I always admired Madonna's activism. In 2006 when I went to her concert "Confessions on the dance floor" the part that really blew me away was the interlude for SORRY when she critiques the war, the system and of course; George W Bush. Sticky and Sweet tour couldn't be different, this time the video is "Get Stupid".
Tic tac...tic tac... Get stupid, Don't stop it Get up, It's time Your life, Your world Get up, Its time Your life, Your choice It's time for you to read the signs You don't have the luxury of time Get up, Its time Your life, Your world Get up, Its time Your life, Your choice You have got to say what's on your mind The time is now If you wait too long it will be too late Let's go...Let's go... The time is right now You got to decide Say what u'd like There ain't no time to lose Let's go Tic tac...tic tac...tic tac... Madonna is once again being wise and using her power to give people a reality check. It is time for us to make the right choices and decide our future before it's too late. It's time to VOTE. And the video ends with one hope: OBAMA 2008!!!
Forest Whitaker, Whoopi Goldberg, Barry Manilow and more stars have teamed up with former Eurythmics man Dave Stewart on an inspirational video for change, "American Prayer."
"I found it more pertinent than ever to release this song at the moment
when America dares to re-imagine itself and its place in the world,"
says Stewart.
The uplifting anthem pays tribute to the everyday Americans and millions of people who are supporting Barack Obama's platform of change. The video features a clip from Martin Luther King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech and shows stars such as Pam Anderson, Cyndi Lauper, Joss Stone, Macy Gray, Joan Baez, Jason Alexander and Herbie Hancock getting into the spirit of the campaign.
The song is available on iTunes and the Dave Stewart Songbook Vol. 1, with proceeds to benefit MoveOn.org.
"Bitchy" and "queeny" are the nicest words you could use to describe this stylist-turned-TV presenter- turned-congressman. His comments on the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Holocaust have branded him an anti-Semite, and he was officially scolded by gay groups for insulting a female legislative colleague's physical appearance
